Restoration of tower clock by J. Smith & Sons of Clerkenwell, 1874 This page shows a few pictures of the restoration of a tower clock by Smiths. It is a three train, cast iron, modified flat bed and plate style frame with a Graham dead beat escapement. The original condition was quite oxidized a D+ on an A to E scale. Total parts count 405; total restoration time 325 hours, completed February of 2004. All surfaces with the exception of pivots and inside bushing areas were protected with a coat of paint or clear lacquer.
