Initial work begins on the remontoire fly fan assemblies. These components are a major feature of the clock movement so great attention is paid to this subsystem.  Notice how a major safety component like the ratchet wheel, 2nd photo, receives four screws in the collet.

Below is a shot of the process for slitting the screw heads. All screws are custom made for the clock. No off the shelf parts. These will later be heat blued to a bright color.
